House panel, inaprubahan na ang house bill na nagbabawal sa pagkakaroon ng expiration date sa mga gift check

Inaprubahan ng House Committee on Trade and Industry ang house bill na nagbabawal sa mga commercial establishments na maglagay ng expiration date sa mga gift certificates, checks o cards.

Sa inihain na House Bill 3091 ni Quezon City Rep. Winston Castelo, nakasaad na lahat ng gift certificates, checks at cards ay wala dapat na expiration date at dapat tanggapin ito ng mga business establishments hanggang sa lubusang magamit ang mga ito.

Ayon kay Castelo ang gift certificate ay katumbas ng cash, kaya aniya tulad ng cash ay wala dapat itong expiration ang gift checks.

Dagdag pa niya, kapag nagpatibay ang naturang bill ay mapoprotektahan nito ang milyun-milyong mga consumer na bumibili ng mga store certificates bilang regalo sa kaibigan at kamag-anak.

Binibigyan din sa nasabing bill na  dapat na maglabas ng kaukulang panuntunan at parusa sa mga lalabag dito ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
