Medalya sa 42 SAF commandos, aprubado na ni Pangulong Duterte

Inaprubahan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang conferment ng Medal of Valor o Medalya ng Kagitingan sa 42 Special Action Force (SAF) troopers na sumabak at nasawi sa engkwentro sa Mamasapano noong 2015.

Dahil dito, ipinag-bigay alam na ni Executive Sec. Salvador Medialdea kay Interior Sec. Ismael Sueno sa pamamagitan ng isang liham, na inaaprubahan na ng pangulo ang kaniyang endorsement.

Una nang nabigyan ng Medal of Valor ang dalawa sa 44 SAF commandos na nasawi sa Mamasapano incident na sina Senior Insp. Gednat Tabdi at PO2 Romeo Cempron.

Ipinagtaka naman ng pangulo kung bakit dalawa lang sa mga SAF commandos ang binigyan ng medalya, gayong lahat naman ng napatay ay nakiisa sa operasyon.

Kasunod ng pahayag na ito ay inendorso ng National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) ang 42 pa na SAF commandos para mabigyan ng medalya.
