DOJ inatasan na ang NBI na itigil ang pagsasagawa ng anti-illegal drugs operations
Bilang pagsunod sa utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, inatasan na ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) suspendihin ang kanilang anti-illegal drugs operations.
Sa memorandum circular ni Justice Sec. Vitaliano Aguirre II, inaatasan nito si NBI Director Dante Gierran na ipatupad ang suspensyon ‘indefinitely’.
Maging ang pagsasagawa ng NBI ng case build-up at imbestigasyon sa mga hinahawakan nilang kaso na may kaugnayan sa paglabag sa Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 ay pinahihinto rin ni Aguirre.
Nakasaad din sa memorandum circular na ang suspensyon ay batay sa naging pahayag ni Duterte sa kaniyang talumpati sa National Ceonvention of Philippine Association of Water District sa Davao City noong Huwebes, February 2.
Sa nasabing speech, sinabi ni Duterte na matapos ang kontrobersiya sa pagdukot at pagpatay sa Korean na si Jee ICk Joo, dapat nang itigil ng NBI ang pagsasagawa nila ng anti-illegal drugs operations gaya ng Philippine National Police (PNP).
