DOLE, DSWD, sanib-pwersa sa pagsugpo ng child labor sa bansa
Pagtutulungan ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang pag-aalis ng child labor sa bansa sa 2025.
Batay sa 2011 survey ng Philippine Statistics Authority, tinatayang 2.1 miyong kabataan ang nagtatrabaho sa bansa.
Dahil dito, bumuo ng isang programa ang dalawang ahensiya upang aksyunan ang naturang problema sa bansa.
Ayon kay Labor Undersecretary Joel Maglunsod, maisasakatuparan ang proyekto sa tulong ng kooperasyon mula sa iba’t ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno, local government units at organisasyon, media, mga magulang at maging ang mga kabataan mismo.
Ilan sa mga nakalinyang proyekto para dito ang mga sumusunod:
- CARING Gold Project ng International Labor Organization at BanToxics
- Strategic Help Desks for Information, Education, Livelihood and other Developmental Interventions o SHIELD; at,
- pagpapakalat ng module para sa Child Labor for the Family Development Sessions sa ilalim ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program ng DSWD.
Siniguro naman ni Maglunsod ang agarang aksyon dito upang mailigtas ang kaluusugan at kundisyon ng mga batang nagtatrabaho sa murang edad.
