Obama: “It has been the honor of my life to serve you”

“You made me a better president and a better man.”

Isa lamang ito sa mga naging mensahe ni outgoing US President Barack Obama sa kaniyang farewell speech na ginawa sa Chicago.

Bukod dito ay sumentro pa rin sa mensahe ng pag-unlad, pag-asa at pagbabago ang huling talumpati ni Obama.

Ginanap ang farewell speech ni Obama bago ito bumaba sa pwesto bilang pangulo ng Estados Unidos sa January 21.

Sa Chicago na kaniyang hometown unang idineklarang panalo si Obama bilang first black American President noong 2008.

Sa kanyang farewell speech ay nagbalik-tanaw si Obama sa kanyang mga nagawa habang nasa White House sa loob ng walong taon.

Present sa okasyon si First Lady Michelle Obama at Vice President Joe Biden at misis nitong si Jill Biden.

Pinasalamatan ni Obama ang asawa at kanilang mga anak.

“Michelle…for the past twenty-five years, you have been not only my wife and mother of my children, you have been my best friend. A new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. Malia and Sasha…you have become two amazing young women, smart and beautiful, but more importantly, kind and thoughtful,” ayo kay Obama.

Sa huli, sinabi ni Obama na napakalaking karangalan sa kaniyang buhay ang mapaglingkuran ang kaniyang fellow Americans./ Len Montaño
