Pagbasura ni Trump sa Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, kinatigan ni Duterte

Sinuportahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang naging hakbang ni U.S President elect Donald Trump na ibasura ang Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement na inisyatibo ni U.S President Barack Obama.

Sa pre-departure speech ng pangulo sa NAIA Terminal 2 bago tumulak sa Cambodia para sa state visit, sinabi nito na kapag nagkataon ay magdudulot lamang ito ng malaking regional problem.

Paliwanag ng pangulo, mabuti na rin na hindi nag-qualify ang Pilipinas sa TPP dahil hindi naman ganun ka- modernisado ang bansa.

Kapag nagkataon na nakasama ang Pilipinas sa TPP, hindi na maaring makapagbenta ng generic na medisina bagkus ay pawang branded at mamahaling gamot na lamang ang mabibili sa merkado.

Ang TPP ay isang trade agreement ng labing dalawang bansa sa pasipiko kabilang dito ang Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam at U.S.
