Maynila, nag-aalok ng libreng HIV testing at treatment

ManilaMaari ng mapakinabangan ng mga residente ng lungsod ng Maynila ang libreng testing at treatment ng human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Ayon kay Manila health department officer-in-charge Dr. Benjamin Yson naka-procure na ang city government ng antiretroviral (ARV) medicines na kung saan kayang kontrolin nito ang pagkalat ng HIV para mapigilan ang progression nito sa nakamamatay na acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Dagdag pa ni Yson na ang mga pasyenteng mada-diagnosed na may HIV ay bibigayan ng treatment kasama ang antiretroviral (ARV) drugs.

Sinabi ni Yson na ang city health department ay nagsasagawa ng HIV/AIDS information drive sa lahat ng barangay sa Maynila at hinihinok ang mga interesadong mga residente na sumailalim sa HIV testing.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi rin ni Yson na ang city health department ay nag-aalok din ng libreng screening ng sexually transmitted diseases.

Ang nasabing libreng HIV tests ay isinasagawa sa Manila Social Hygiene Clinic sa Sta. Cruz, Manila.
