Magtataas ang bayarin sa kuryente ngayong buwan ng Agosto.
Ayon sa Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) ito ay resulta ng mga naranasang kakapusan ng power supply noong nagdaang buwan ng Hulyo.
Sinabi ni Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga, ang mga yellow alerts na itinaas sa Luzon grid dahil sa manipis na suplay ng kuryente ayon may epekto sa bayarin ng mga consumers.
“There were several instances of yellow alerts in the supply month of July which may impact in August bills. We also noted supply restrictions from Malampaya which may have prompted the plants obtaining supply from it to resort to utilizing liquid fuel,” paliwanag ni Zaldarriaga.
Magugunitang noong nagdaang buwan ng Hulyo, ilang beses nagtaas ng yellow alert sa Luzon grid dahil mas mababa sa minimum level ang reserba ng kuryente. Ilang ulit din kasing nagpatupad ng supply restrictions sa Malampaya power plant.
Hindi pa naman nagbigay ng halaga ng itaaas sa bayarin sa kuryente si Zaldarriaga dahil kailangan pa aniya nilang matanggap ang billings mula sa mga power suppliers at saka sila magkukwenta./ Dona Dominguez – Cargullo
