Senator Leila De Lima at 18 iba pa, kinasuhan na sa DOJ kaugnay sa drug trade sa Bilibid
Ipinagharap na ng reklamo sa Department of Justice (DOJ) si Senator Leila De Lima kaugnay sa illegal drug trade sa loob ng New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).
Ang reklamo ay isinampa ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Mga kasong paglabag sa RA 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, qualified bribery, paglabag sa Presidential Decree (PD) 46 o making it punishable for Public Officials and Employees to Receive, and for Private Persons to Give Gifts on any Occasion at paglabag sa RA 6713 o Code of Conduct and Ethical standards for Public Officials and Employees ang isinampa laban kay De Lima.
Maliban kay De Lima, labingwalong iba pa ang isinama ng NBI sa reklamo kabilang ang mga dating opisyal ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Ang NBI ay nagsagawa din ng hiwalay na imbestigasyon hinggil sa takamak na operasyon ng ilegal na droga sa Bilibid.
Magugunitang karamihan sa mga high-profile inmates na tumestigo sa ginawang imbestigasyon ng kamara ay nagtuturo kay De Lima bilang protektor ng illegal drugs operation sa bilangguan.
