Kalahati ng mga contractual workers sa gobyerno, magiging permanente na ayon sa DOLE
Ipinahayag ni Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III na kalahati sa mga contractual workers sa gobyerno ay magiging permanente na simula 2017.
50 porsyento ng mga contractual employees sa ibat-ibang agencies, bureaus, government financial institutions at government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCC) ay magiging permanente na simula January 2017 kasunod ng panawagan ng gobyerno sa pagtigil ng kontraktuwalisasyon.
Ayon kay Bello natapos na lahat ng “pertinent works” sa iba’t-ibang government agencies kaya maari nang maging permanente ang mga contractual workers habang ang regularisasyon ng natitirang mga manggagawa ay magpapatuloy sa susunod na taon.
Paliwanag ni Bello na maari nilang payagan ang kontraktuwalisasyon pero ang tatanggapin na mga contractual workers ay dapat mabigyan ng mga benepisyo para maranasan ng mga ito ang dalang mga pribilehiyo.
Kaugnay nito nasa 1.3 million regular workers ang nasa iba’t-ibang government line agencies sa buong bansa habang humigit kumulang 300,000 contractual workers ang hired na gumaganap sa duties at responsibilities na ibinibigay sa mga permanenteng empleyado.
