Ito ang pahayag ni US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affiars Daniel Russel sa pakikipagdyalogo nito kay Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay kahapon.
“The succession of controversial statements, comments and a real climate of uncertainty about the Philippines’ intentions have created consternation in a number of countries,” ayon sa opisyal.
Paliwanag ni Russel, tampok din sa mga usapan sa loob ng mga ‘boardroom’ o mga kumpanya at negosyo ang mga pangyayari sa Pilipinas at mga kontrobersyal na pahayag ng pangulo.
“This is not a positive trend,” dagdag pa ni Russel.
Si Russel ay nasa bansa para sa kanyang three-nation trip sa Southeast Asia.
