Mga nasalanta ng Bagyong Lawin, hindi pa rin nakakatanggap ng foreign aid

Cagayan1Nanatiling walang dumadating na foreign government assistance sa mga sinalanta ng Bagyong Lawin na itinuturing na isa sa pinakamalakas na bagyong humagupit sa bansa.

Ayon kay Romina Marasigan, tagapagsalita ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) ito ay maaring dahil hindi pa umaapela ng foreign assistance ang national government.

Dagdag ni Marasigan na nakahanda naman ang Asean Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Assistance at ang mga Manila offices ng World Health Organization at United Nations Children’s Fund para tumulong.

Sinabi rin ni Marasigan na nag-pledge naman ng “dignity and maternity tents” para sa mga buntis at nagpapa-breastfeed na mga ina ang United Nations Population Fund habang nakakanda rin na magbigay ng tulong ang Philippine Disaster Relief Foundation, Doctors Without Borders at World Vision ng relief supplies at aid workers.

Kaugnay nito, patuloy na nahihirapan ang mga local na gobyerno na magkapagbahagiu ng pagkain at maibalik ang suplay ng kuryente at serbisyo ng komumikasyon.
