China at Pilipinas, nagkasundong idaan sa bilateral talks ang isyu sa South China Sea

Nagkasundo ang Pilipinas at ang China na hindi ang isyu ng teritoryo sa South China Sea ang tanging bumubuo sa relasyon sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa.

Sinabi ito ni Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin sa media sa Great Hall of the People kung saan nag-usap sina Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Ayon kay Liu, saglit lang na napag-usapan ng dalawang pinuno ang usapin sa South China Sea, pero nagkasundo sila na hindi ito ang kabuuan ng ugnayan ng Pilipinas at China.

Dahil dito, napagkasunduan rin ng dalawa na bumalik sa pamamaraang ginamit limang taon na ang nakakalipas sa pamamagitan ng bilateral dialogue.

Nasuspinde noon ang usapin sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa tungkol sa isyu ng teritoryo, matapos sakupin ng China ang Scarborough Shoal, na sinundan ng pagsasampa ng kaso ng Pilipinas sa arbitral tribunal sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Benigno Aquino III.

Matatandaang sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte na hindi niya uungkatin ang isyu sa South China Sea sa kaniyang pagbisita sa China bilang pagbibigay respeto sa bansa dahil siya ay bisita lamang.

Sinabi rin niya noon na mapaguusapan lamang ang isyung ito kung ang kaniyang kapwa pinuno ang magbubukas ng usapin na ito.
