Sinabi ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na kailangan nang umalis sa Mindanao ang U.S Special Forces para sa katahimikan ng rehiyon.

Sa kanyang pahayag sa Malacañang, sinabi ni Duterte na mas magiging mainit ang sitwasyon sa Mindanao kapag nanatili doon ang tropa ng America.

Hindi umano niya sinabi ang nasabing bagay nang makaharap niya sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit ang ilang U.S officials dahil hindi iyun ang tamang venue para sa isyu.

Nauna na ring sinabi ng pangulo na hindi siya bilib sa mga sundalong kano kaya at wala naman daw silang naitulong para sa kaayusan ng rehiyon lalo na sa isyu ng bakbakan kontra sa mga bandidong grupo.

Wala pang inilalabas na sagot ang U.S Embassy hingil sa nasabing pahayag ng pangulo.
