Senator JV Ejercito, pinatawan ng 90 days suspension ng Sandiganbayan

Pinatawan ng 90 araw na suspensyon ng Sandiganbayan 5th Division si Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito.

Ito ay kaugnay sa kasong graft na kinakaharap ng senador sa anti-graft court hinggil sa maanomalyang pagbili ng mga armas gamit ang calamity funds ng lokal na pamahalaan ng San Juan.

Sa resolusyon ng Sandiganbayan, inaprubahan ang mosyon ng Office of the Special Prosecutor na humihiling na masuspinde si Ejercito at ang mga kapwa nito akusado na sina city administrator Ranulfo Dacalos, treasurer Rosalinda Marasigan, Atty. Romualdo delos Santos, budget officer Lorenza Ching at engineer Danilo Mercado habang sumasailalim sila sa paglilitis sa kaso.

“Accused Joseph Victor Ejercito is hereby suspended from his position as senator of the Republic of the Philippines, and from any other public office which he may now or hereafter be holding for a period of 90 days from receipt of this resolution, unless a motion for reconsideration is seasonably filed,” nakasaad sa resolusyon ng korte.

Matatandaang naharap sa kaso sina Ejercto dahil sa kwestiyonableng paggamit ng calamity funds para bumili ng matataas na kalibre ng mga armas noong 2008, o panahon na alkalde pa si Senador Ejercito.
