Pinamamadali na ni Senator Grace Poe sa Department of Justice ang pagsasampa ng kaso laban sa mga miyembro ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front, Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters at iba lang armed group na responsable sa pagpaslang sa apatnapu’t apat na commandos ng PNP Special Action Force.
Ginawa ni Poe ang apela sa DOJ kasunod ng rekomendasyon ng Ombudsman na umpisahan na ang preliminary investigation laban kina datong PNP Chief Alan Purisima dating PNP SAF head Getulio Napeñas at iba pang opisyal ng PNP na sangkot sa Mamasapano incident noong January 25.
Ayon kay Poe, nakatutuwa at naglabas na ng rekomendasyon ang investigating panel.
Pero ayon sa senador, hihintayin niya muna ang pinal na rekomendasyon ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales lalo’t sa Usurpation of Authority na ginawa ni Purisima.
Matatandaang nakialam si Purisima sa operasyon sa Mamasapano na target sanang maaresto ang international bomber na si Zulkifli Bin Hir alyas Marwan kahit na suspended noong mga panahong iyon.
“I am glad that the investigating panel has finally come up with a recommendation on this case. I’ll reserve comment on the particular findings at this point because this recommendation is not final,” ani Poe./Chona Yu
