Nakapagtala ng minor ash eruption sa Mt. Bulusan sa Sorsogon na tumagal ng labing-isang minuto Biyernes ng hapon.
Sa advisory ng Philippine Institue of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), ang naganap na eruption ay explosion-type earthqauke.
Ayon pa sa Phivolcs, umabot hanggang dalawang daang metro ang taas ang abong ibinuga ng bulkang Bulusan mula sa west-northwest na bahagi nito.
Pero sinabi ng ahensya na nananatili sa alert level 1 ang status ng bulkan at bawal pa rin ang pagpunta sa four-kilometer-radius permanent danger zone nito dahil sa posibilidad ng biglaan at nakakapinsalang pagsabog.
“This is notice of a minor ash eruption at Bulusan Volcano. The eruption was recorded as an explosion-type earthquake that lasted 11 minutes on the seismic record. A short 200m-high gray ash plume that drifted west-northwest was observed until the eruption ended at 1:21 P.M.,” ayon sa advisory ng Phivolcs.
Payo ng Phivolcs, dapat abisuhan ng Civil Aviation Authorities of the Philippines (CAAP) ang mga piloto na iwasan ang malapitang paglipad sa tuktok ng bulusan dahil delikado ang abo na inilalabas nito.
Dapat ding maging alerto ang mga nakatira sa paligid ng bulkan lalo na sa southwest at northwest sector laban sa lahar kapag malakas at matagal ang pag-ulan./Len Montaño
