Itigil ang “senseless killings” – Robredo
Dapat umanong matigil ang “senseless killings” at “unjust violence” sa bansa.
Ito ang sinabi ni Vice President Leni Robredo.
Sa statement ng bise presidente, sinabi nitong hindi dapat manaig ang culture of fear sa bansa at hindi rin dapat na tanggapin na lamang ang hindi pagrespeto sa buhay ng tao.
“These senseless and unjust violence must stop. We should not foster a culture of fear in our society — one that tacitly accepts death and one that does not give respect to human life,” ani Robredo.
Muli ring nanawagan si Robredo ng masusing imbestigasyon sa mga nagaganap na pagpatay at papanagutin ang mga nasa likod nito.
Ang dumaraming bilang aniya ng nagaganap na extra judicial killings sa bansa ay dapat magsilbing wake-up call sa bawat isa para irespeto ang right to due process.
Noong nakaraang linggo naglabas na din ng pahayag si Robredo hinggil sa mga insidente ng pagpatay.
Aniya, nakababahala na tila kahit na sino ay maaring mabiktima ng vigilante-style killings.
