Sagot ng Senado sa petition vs VP impeachment ipinasa sa OSG
METRO MANILA, Philippines — Ipinaubaya na ng Senado sa Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) ang pagsagot sa Korte Suprema kaugnay sa petisyon na ipabasura ang impeachment complaints laban kay Vice Presidente Sara Duterte.
Ito ang sinabi ni Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero kaugnay sa inihain na petition for mandamus para mapilit ang Senado na simulan na ang impeachment trial ni Duterte.
Ipinaliwanag ni Escudero na dahil ang OSG ang abogado ng gobyerno hahayaan nila na ito na lamang ang sumagot sa petisyon.

Aniya nakausap na niya si Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra ukol dito at ibabahagi na lamang niya ang opinyon o argumento ng legal team ng Senado.
Hihintayin na lamang din aniya niya ang desisyon ng Korte Suprema at maaring pagbotohan ng mga senador kung sila ay susunod o babalewalain ang utos ng kataastaasang hukuman.
Samantala, nabanggit ni Escudero na sinimulan na ang paghahanda para sa pagsasagawa ng impeachment trial at aniya maaring umabot sa P1 milyon ang gagastusin ng Senado bukod pa sa lawyer’s fee.
