METRO MANILA, Philippines — Itinalagâ ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si retired Regional Trial Court Judge Jimmy Santiago bilang bagong director ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) kapalít ni Medardo de Lemos.

Bago naging hukóm sa mga korte sa Maynila at Tagaytay City, nakilala si Santiago bilang “Manila sharpshooter” ng Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team ng dating Western Police District (WPD), na ngayon ay Manila Police District (MPD),  hanggáng noóng 2000.

Nakilala siyá sa mga “hostage drama incidents” kung saan ay napapatáy niya ang hostage-taker.

BASAHIN: NBI nawalán na raw ng kredibilidád; De Lemos pinagbibitíw

Nagsilbí din siyáng assistant city prosecutor sa Department of Justice mulâ 2003 hanggáng 2006.

Naging pangulò din siya ng Metropolitan and City Judges Association of the Philippines at deputy executive vice president ng Philippine Judges Association.

Nanumpâ na siyá bilang NBI director kay Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin nitóng Biyernes.
