Nagkaroon na ng regulasyon ang pambansang-pulisya ukol sa tattoo ng mga pulis at maging sa mga nais maging pulis.
Binanggit ni Police Col. Jean Fajardo, tagapagsalita ng PNP, na naglabas ng Memorandum Circular 2024-023 na may petsa pang Marso 19 at sakop din nito ang kanilang non-uniformed personnel.
Kailangan aniya na mabura ang “visible” tattoos.”
“For some sinasabing creative art into, expression of oneself belief sa artistic side po nila but in every right, there are boundaries. Dito ay nasa loob tayo ng uniformed service kasi pangit na naka uniform ang pulis natin na tadtad ng tattoo,” sabi ni Fajardo.
Dagdag pa niya, kailangan din gumawa ng affidavit ang mga pulis na nagdedeklara ng kanilang mga tattoo na hindi nakikita tuwing sila ay naka-uniporme.
Binanggit din ni Fajardo ang mga ipinagbabawal na tattoo – extremist tattoos, ethnically or religiously discriminatory and offensive tattoos, indecent tattoos, racist tattoos, sexist tattoos at ang mga tattoo na iniuugnay sa sa mga “unauthorized groups.”
Mahaharap sa mga kasong administratibo ang mga pulis na hindi susunod sa direktiba.
