Naiintindihan at inirerespeto ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang naumang galit mayroon si First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos sa kanya.
Ngunit diin ni Duterte personal ang nararamdaman ni Araneta-Marcos sa kanya at walang kinalaman sa kanyang mga responsibilidad bilang opisyal ng gobyerno.
“As a person, it is First Lady Liza Marcos’ right to feel resentment and anger. However, her emotions are distinct from my mandate as a government official,” sabi ni Duterte sa kanyang video message na nai-post sa kanyang official Facebook page.
Dagdag pa ni Duterte na sila na lamang ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., ang mag-uusap hinggil sa sitwasyon dahil may mga seryosong isyu na kinahaharap ang bansa sa kasalukuyan.
Nabanggit niya ang kakapusan sa tubig at kuryente, gayundin ang problema sa droga, maging mga krimen at terorismo.
“We should focus on addressing the challenges facing our country. The relentless increase in food prices and other commodities further aggravates the plight of our impoverished fellow citizens who do not have enough food,” dagdag pa ni Duterte, na nagsisilbi din kalihim ng Department of Education (DepEd).
Sa isang panayam, inamin ni Araneta-Marcos na hindi katuwa-tuwa ang pagtawa ni Duterte sa sinabi ng ama, si dating Pangulong Duterte, na gumagamit ng droga ang Punong Ehekutibo.
