MMDA, LGUs magkakasa ng info drive sa e-trike ban

Ipagpapaliban ng isang buwan ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang paghuli at pagmulta sa mga lalabag sa pagbabawal sa tricycle at light electric vehicles sa mga pangunahing lansangan.

Sinabi ni acting MMDA Chairman Don Artes na gagamitin nila, gayundin ng mga lokal na pamahalaan, ang isang buwan na palugit para magsagawa ng information campaign ukol sa pagbabawal sa tricycle, e-trike, e-bikes at pedicabs maging mga kariton sa 19 pangunahing lansangan

Ayon pa kay Artes paparahin pa rin ng kanilang enforcers ang mga lalabag ngunit hindi sila magbibigay ng tiket at hindi din mai-impound ang unit.

Kahapon, inanunsiyo ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., na inatasan niya ang MMDA at LGUs na suspimdihin ang pagpapatupad ng  MMDA Regulation 24-002 Series of 2024.

“Our president is a compassionate leader, and he is sensitive to the sentiments of the public, as some of the violators claimed that they were not aware of the regulation, do not know the alternative routes, and have not yet adjusted their routine in the use of their electric bikes,” sabi ni Artes.

Samantala, ayon pa rin kay Artes, pag-aaralan nila ang pagkansela sa tiket ng 290 violators at ang pagpapabalik ng na-impound na 69 units simula noong Miyerkules hanggang kahapon.
