Inihayag ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) na may posibilidad na makaranas ng extreme danger heat index ang ilang bahagi ng bansa.
Nangangahulugan ito ng 52°C pataas na heat index dahil na rin sa El Niño.
“Based on PAGASA’s monitoring on high discomfort index or heat index, there’s (the) possibility that some areas could experience extreme danger or 52°C and above,” ani Climate Monitoring and Prediction Section chief Ana Liza Solis.
Babala niya ang direktang pagkalantad sa sraw ay maaring magresulta sa heat stroke.
Hindi naman natukoy ang mga lugar na makakaranas ng napakataas na heat index, na maaring magdulot pa ng pag-ulan.
Sa susunod na buwan inaasahan na ang matataas na heat indices sa Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region at Central Luzon.
Maarin din na maging matindi ang mararamdaman na alinsangan sa Metro Manila, Cavite at Batangas.
