Sumakabilang buhay kahapon, Abril 4, si retired Brigadier General Victor Corpus sa edad na 79.
Naging tanyag si Corpus, na miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Dimasupil” Class of 1967, nang pangunahan pa niya ang pagsalakay ng New People’s Army (NPA) sa armory ng Fort del Pilar sa Baguio City noong 1970.
Mula sa pagiging tinyente sa Philippine Constabulary (PC) naging rebelde si Corpus dahil sa korapsyon sa militar.
Sumuko siya noong 1976 at nakulong hanggang mapalaya matapos noong 1986 nang mapatalsik ang yumaong Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr., dahil sa EDSA People Power Revolution.
Nakabalik siya sa AFP noong 1987 hanggang sa magretiro bilang director ng Intelligence Service of AFP (ISAFP) sa ilalim ng administrasyong-Arroyo.
