Ito ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., kasunod nang pakikipagpulong niya sa kanyang defense at security officials matapos ang panibagong “water cannon attack” ng Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) sa resupply mission ng Pilipinas sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal.
Tatlong Filipino ang nasaktan sa panibagong insidente.
Ibinahagi din ni Marcos na regular ang kanyang komunikasyon sa mga kaalyadong bansa ng Pilipinas ukol sa sitwasyon sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).
“They have offered to help us on what the Philippines requires to protect and secure our Sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction while ensuring peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific,” aniya.
“I have given them our requirements and we have been assured that they will be addressed,” dagdag pa ng Punong Ehekutibo.
Sinabi din nito na magpapatupad ang Pilipinas ng “response and countermeasure package” sa mga susunod na araw ngunit hindi na siya nagbigay pa ng karagdagang detalye.
“(It is) proportionate, deliberate, and reasonable in the face of the open, unabating, and illegal, coercive, aggressive, and dangerous attacks” of China. We seek no conflict with any nation, more so nations that purport and claim to be our friends but we will not be cowed into silence, submission, or subservience,” sabi pa niya.
