PAGASA nakapagtala ng “dangerous heat indices” sa 9 lugar
Naitala ngayon araw sa siyam na lugar sa bansa ang “dangerous heat indices,” ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Pinakamataas ang 44°C na naitala sa Roxas City, Capiz.
Naitala naman ang heat index na 43°C sa San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Masbate City, Masbate; Iloilo City, Iloilo; at sa Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
Samantalang, 42°C heat index sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Pasay City; Puerto Princesa, Palawan; CBSUA-Pili Camarines Sur; at sa Cotabato City, Maguindanao.
Ayon sa PAGASA ang heat indices mula 42 hanggang 51°C ay maaring magdulot ng heat cramps at heat exhaustion, bukod sa maaring humantong sa heat stroke kapag nagtagal ang aktibidad sa ilalim ng matinding sikat ng araw.
