Pagbuo sa Bulacan Special Economic Zone and Freeport lusot sa Senado
Naaprubahan na ikatlo at pinal na pagbasa sa Senado ang panukalang pagbuo sa Bulacan Special Economic Zone and Freeport Act (BEZA).
Dalawamput dalawang senador ang sumang-ayon, walang negatibong boto at wala din nag-abstain para sa Senate Bill No. 2572 na inisponsoran ni Sen. Grace Poe.
Pinasalamatan ni Poe sina Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva at Sen. Imee Marcos dahil sa pagsusulong ng panukala.
Gayundin sina President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito, Sens. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, Christopher “Bong” Go at Pia Cayetano bilang co-spomsors.
“They saw what the Bulacan Ecozone can bring to the Bulacan community and to the rest of the region,” ani Poe patukoy sa mga kapwa senador.
“I am proud to say through our collective brainstorming, we have crafted a vastly improved bill that adheres to constitutional provision on land conversion; that balances economic growth with environmental protection; and that warrants greater LGU representation at its helm,” dagsdag pa niya.
Sinabi naman ni Villanueva na kapag naaprubahan, makakalikha ito ng 1.2 milyong trabaho at hanggang P120,9 bilyon na halaga ng pamumuhunan.
