Tariff Commission sinimulan na ang pagsusuri sa EO 12
Suportado ng ilang ahensiya ng gobyerno at mga pribadong organisasyon ang pagsasama sa e-motorcycles na makasama sa nabibigyan ng tax breaks alinsunod sa Executive Order Number 12.
Kasabay ito nang pagsisimula ng Tariff Commission sa pagdinig sa EO 12 na nagbibigay ng insentibo sa buwis sa electric vehicles.
Nagpahayag na ng suporta ang Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Investment (DTI-BOI) at Department of Energy (DOE), Autohub Group, at Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) sa pagkakaloob ng tax breaks sa e-motorcycles.
Ayon kay Energy Utilization Management Bureau Specialist Andre Reyes ang pagbibigay ng tax breaks sa e-motorcycles ay makatutulong sa mas mabilis na paggamit ng EV sa bansa.
“This proposed coverage expansion will send a clear price signal for consumers to switch to EVs, which are more efficient and cheaper to run per kilometer, and assist in energy self-sufficiency,” aniya.
Sa ilalim ng EO12, ang iba’t ibang uri ng RVs ay pagkakalooban ng tax breaks, habang ang e-motorcycles ay nananatiling pinapatawan ng 30 percent tariff rate.
Samantala, nais ng EVAP na bigyan ng tax breaks ang e-motorcycles sa limitadong panahon upang makatulong sa paglikha ng isang industriya para sa kanilang manufacturing sa bansa.
“The granting of tariff exemption should be limited only to one year with a commitment to at least do a CKD of the same model or another model on the second year,” sabi ng EVAP sa isinumiteng position paper.
