Pagbabawal sa e-bikes, e-trikes, padyak etc sa ilang kalsada sa MM ikakasa sa Abril 15
Inanunsiyo ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) na simula sa darating na Abril 15 mahigpit na ipapatupad ang pagbabawal sa tricycles, kuliglig at padyak sa ilang lansangan sa Metro Manila.
Sinabi ni acting Chairman Don Artes sasakupin din ng prohibisyon sa paggamit sa national roads, circumferential roads, at radial roads ang mga e-bikes, e-trikes at mga kariton.
Ayon pa kay Artes hindi na bago ang pagbabawal dahil nakapaloob na ito sa dalawang memorandum circulars ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) at Land Transportation Office Administrative Order 2021-039 o ang Consolidated Guidelines in the Classification, Registration and Operation of All Types of Electric Vehicle.
“We will just enforce this prohibition because of the increasing number of accidents involving e-bikes, e-trikes, and e-scooters. We will not wait for these figures to go higher and the situation to worsen,” sabi pa ni Artes.
Binanggit nito na noong nakaraang taon nakapagtala ang kanilang MMDA Road Safety Unit ng 907 aksidente na kinasasangkutan ng e-bike, e-trike at e-scooter na halos triple sa naitalang 309 noong 2019.
Dagdag pa ng opisyal na hindi “total ban” ang kanilang ipapatupad sa mga nabanggit na sasakyan at ang hakbang ay para din sa kaligtasan ng mga gumagamit at sumasakay sa mga ito.
