Pagbibigay amnestiya ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., aprub sa Senado
Sinang-ayunan ng mga senador ang pagbibigay amnestiya ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., sa mga miyembro ng ibat-ibang rebeldeng grupo sa bansa makalipas ang tatlong buwan matapos pirmahan sa Malakanyang ang mga proklamasyon.
Ayon kay Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, ang sponsor ng mga resolusyon, pagpapatunay lamang ito ng komprehensibong programang pang-kapayapaan ng administrasyon.
“I am truly honored and privileged to sponsor these measures that will foster healing and social cohesion, and will provide the window to end internal armed conflict and rebellion, which have already cost the country a staggering amount of lost economic opportunities and the lives of countless Filipinos,” ani Estrada,
May 2,000 dating miyembro ng Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), 1,200 miyembro ng Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa ng Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army/Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPMP-RPA-ABB), at 400 Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) surrenderers ang inaasahan tatanggapin ang alok na amnestiya.
Ibibigay ang amnestiya sa mga rebelde na nakagawa ng mga krimen dahil sa kanilang ideolohiya o paniniwalang-pulitikal.
Kabilang sa mga krimen ay rebellion o insurrection, sedition, illegal assembly, direct and indirect assault, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority, at illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, or explosives.
“It is important to note that these crimes or offenses must have been committed in furtherance of, incident to, or in connection with the crimes of rebellion or insurrection, among others,” ayon pa kay Estrada.
