Suporta ng Australia sa ‘Pinas sa isyu sa WPS, PBBM nag-“thank you”
Labis-labis ang pasasalamat ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., sa Australia dahil sa patuloy na pagsuporta sa Pilipinas sa isyu ng pag-aangkin ng bahagi ng South China Sea.
Sa kanyang talumpati sa Parliament of Australia sa Canberra, ipinagdiinan ni Marcos ang kahalagahan na bantayan at protektahan ang teritoryo ng Pilipinas sa naturang rehiyon.
Ipinahayag din ni Marcos ang kanyang paghanga sa Australia sa pagsusulong at pagdepensa sa United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
“We draw strength from the consistent and unequivocal support of Australia and the international community for the lawful exercise of our rights, which have been settled under international law. And so, on behalf of the Filipino people, I thank you, Australia, for standing with the Republic of the Philippines,” sabi ng Punong Ehekutibo.
Inihayag din ni Marcos na hinding-hindi isusuko ng Pilipinas ang kinikilalang teritoryo sa naturang rehiyon sa kabila ng napakalaking hamon na nagmumula sa China.
