Tax break sa e-motorcycles suportado ng EV group
Sinuportahan ni Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) President Edmund Araga ang pagkunsidera na mabigyan din ng “tax break” ang electric motorcycles.
Kasunod ito nang pagpapalabas ng EO 12 para sa mandatory review sa tax incentives sa ilang electric vehicles at mga bahagi nito kasabay ng pagsusulong ng “green transportation” sa Pilipinas.
Sinabi ni Araga na ‘car-centric’ ang Pilipinas at dapat nitong isaalang-alang ang karamihan ng road users sa bansa ay motorcycle riders.
Base sa Statista Research Department, ang Pilipinas ay may kabuuang 7.81 million registered motorcycles at tricycles, na bumubuo sa karamihan ng mga motorista na gumagamit ng mga kalsada.
“We are very vocal that with the proliferation of [EVs] in the Philippine setting, kailangan na kailangan din ‘yang mga [e-motorcycles] na ‘yan. In fact, most of the consumers can afford to buy two wheels and three wheels, and not on the four wheels… mahirap kung ang basis natin ay nasa four wheels lang,” komento pa ni Araga.
Sa kasalukuyan, pinapatawan ang e-motorcycles ng 30 percent tariff rates.
“This would really be a game-changer kung talagang naisama ito [e-motorcycles on EO12]… We have to strike a balance out of these rules and regulations in order for us to secure and make sure that the application is in place,” diin pa nito.
Magugunita na sa pagbisita kamakailan ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., sa Vietnam, interesado ang pinakamalaking negosyo sa naturang bansa na maglagak ng puhunan sa e-vehicles sa Pilipinas.
