DTI pinatindi anti-vape at e-cigs campaign

Pinalawig ng  Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ang pagbabantay sa mga lumalabag sa Republic Act No. 11900 o ang “Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act gayundin ang Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) nito.

Nabatid na nakakumpiska na ang kagawraan ng higit  18,000 non-compliant vape products na nagkakahalaga ng P5.5 milyon.

Nabigyan naman ng notices of violations at show cause orders (SCOs) ang 269 tindahan.

At sa inspeksyon sa 66,000 online vape stores hanggang noong nakaraang buwan, 61,000 ang naisyuhan ng SCOs.

Karaniwan sa mga paglabag ay ang kabiguan ng mga tindahan na alamin ang edad ng mga kustomer at pagbebenta ng vape products na kaakit-akit sa mga menor-de-edad.

Higit 200 kaso na rin ang naihain sa kagawaran at napatawan ng multa ang mga napatunayang lumabag.

“We are working double time on our enforcement operations to prevent the sale of vape to minors – that is our duty. Also, we will continue to work with our partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure that violators of RA 11900 and its IRR are penalized accordingly,” ani Trade Sec. Alfredo Pascual.
