Mindanao-Visayas Interconnection project ng NGCP pinuri ni Pangulong Marcos Jr.

Pinuri ng husto ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., ang Visayas-Mindanao interconnection project ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) na nagkakahalaga ng P51.3 bilyon.

“It is the first time in the history of our nation that the three major power grids, those of: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—are now physically connected,”  ani Pangulong Marcos Jr.

Ibinahagi ng Punong Ehekutibo na bahagi ng proyekto ang 184-circuit-kilometer high-voltage direct current submarine cable na may transfer capacity na 450mW na nagkonekta sa Mindanao at Visayas mula sa  Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte at Santander sa  Cebu.

Inatasan ni  ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang Department of Energy (DOE) at NGCP na pag-aralan ang panukalang kumuha ng third parties para sa konstruksiyon naman ng transmission projects.

Ayon sa NGCP, maituturing na mahalagang bahagi ang proyektong ito sa pag-unlad ng ekonomiya sa pamamagitan ng paghahatid ng matatag na power transmission services at magbibigay daan sa energy resource sharing.

Binanggit din ng NGCP na makasaysayan ang proyektong ito dahil sinimulan itong planuhin sa administrasyon ng yumaong Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at naisakatuparan ngayon administrasyon ng kanyang anak.
