P12B dagdag pondo ng Comelec tiniyak ng DBM na hindi para sa Cha-cha

Nilinaw ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na ang karagdagang P12 bilyon na inilaan sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) ay hindi gagamitin para sa pag-amyenda sa 1987 Constitution. Sinabi ni Sec. Amenah Pangandaman na gagamitin ang pondo para sa mga programa ng Comelec, kasama na ang paghahanda sa eleksyon, overseas voting, registration at iba pa. Ginawa ni Pangandaman ang paglilinaw matapos magpahayag ng kanyang pagkabahala si Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman sa paggagamitan ng isiningit na  P12 bilyon sa pondo ng Comelec para ngayon taon.

“It is not intended specifically or solely to fund the proposed Charter change,” dagdag pa ng kalihim.

Una na rin pinabulaanan ni Comelec Chairman George Garcia ang mga pahayag na ang P12 bilyon na isiningit ng mga mambabatas ay gagamitin para sa gagawing pagbabago sa 1987 Constitution.
