Sotto itinanggi na may kinalaman ang NPC sa PI para sa Cha-cha

Dumistansiya ang Nationalist Peoples’ Coalition (NPC) sa isinusulong na People’s Iniative (PI) para sa Charter-change o Cha-cha.

Ayon kay dating Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, ang kasalukuyang chairman ng NPC,  walang kinalaman ang kanilang partido sa PI.

“As Chairman of the NPC, I can officially state that the party is not behind the so-called Peoples’ Initiative,” ani Sotto.

Ipinagdinan din nito na wala silang iniendorso na anuman.

“I met with some of our leaders last night. The Party is not endorsing anything. Any member who supports the PI is on a personal level and not the Party’s stand,” dagdag pa nito.

Kasabay nito, sinabi din nito na ng  “EDSA Pwera” ad, na mapapanood sa telebisyon at nagbibigay paliwanag ukol sa pangangailangan na maamyendahan ang 1987 1987 Constitution, ay hindi makatotohanan.
