Reorganisasyon ang sumalubong sa pagpasok ng bagong taon sa Department of Agriculture (DA).
Sa inilabas na pahayag ng opisina ni Sec. Francisco Tiyu Laurel Jr., ipinaliwanag na ang balasahan ay para mas makasunod ang kagawaran sa mga direktiba ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., at mapaigting ang operasyon ng kagawaran.
Si Usec. Leocadio Sebastian ay naitalaga bilang miyembro ng Technical Advisory Group ng opisina ni Laurel dahil sa malawak ang karanasan at kaalaman nito sa sektor ng agrikultural lalo na sa produksyon ng bigas.
Magugunita na noong Pebrero at naitalaga si Sebastian bilang undersecretary para sa Rice Industry Development Program.
Bukod pa dito naging board member siya ng Philippine Rice Research Institute, nakibahagi sa National Food Authority Council, at naging trustee ng boards National Irrigation Administration at International Rice Research Institute.
“Sebastian will have to give up those multiple roles following his appointment as adviser to Secretary Tiu Laurel Jr,” pahayag ng kagawaran.
Si Usec. Nichols Manalo ang bagong director ng national rice program at si Asec. Arnel de Mesa na ang tagapagsalita ng kagawaran.
Si Undersecretary for Operations Roger Navarro ang magiging OIC-Undersecretary for Rice Industry Development, OIC-national project director ng Philippine Rural Development Project, at OIC-Assistant Secretary for Operations.
Naitalaga si Undersecretary for Fisheries Drusila Esther Bayate bilang undersecretary for Policy, Planning and Regulations.
Si Usec. Mercedita Sombilla, meanwhile naman ang mangangasiwa sa operasyon ng mga kawanihan ng kagawaran.
At si Chief Administrative Officer at OIC director for financial and management service Thelma Tolentino ang magsisilbing Undersecretary-designate for Finance.
Samantalang si Usec. Agnes Catherine Miranda ang mangangasiwa sa mga operasyon at sa mga programa ng mga ahensiya at korporasyon na nasa ilalim ng DA.
