2.5-M deboto inaasahan, 13,700 pulis magbabantay sa Traslacion
Maaring umabot sa 13,700 pulis ang magbabantay sa Traslacion o ang prusisyon ng Itim na Nazareno ng Quiapo sa Enero 9, araw ng Martes.
Ito ang sinabi ni PNP Chief Benjamin Acorda at aniya ang mga pulis ay ipapakalat sa ruta ng prusisyon.
“Based on our estimated population, around 2.5 million may attend but this number may change depending on the situation that may develop in the coming days. In line with that, we are intending to deploy 13,691 police officers. We will also be deploying K9 units,” ani Acorda.
Nabanggit din ng hepe ng pambansang pulisya ang ilan security measures na ikakasa kasabay ng Traslacion kabilang na ang paggamit ng signal jammers at pagbabawal sa pagdadala ng backpacks.
“If possible, they should use transparent backpacks. And if possible, we advise them to refrain from using bull caps and umbrellas and carrying liquid bottles and canisters,” said Acorda.
Nagkaroon na ng serye ng mga pagpupulong noong nakaraang buwan para sa ilalatag na mga hakbangin ukol sa seguridad at kaligtasan ng Traslacion.
Tatlong taon na hindi nagdaos ng Traslacion dahil sa pandemya dulot ng COVID 19.
