PBBM JR. idineklarang non-working day ang Disyembre 26
Idineklara ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. na special non-working day ang Disyembre 26.
Base sa Proclamation No. 425 na nilagdaan ni Executive Sec. Lucas Bersamin nilagdaan ngayong araw, Disyembre 12, idineklarang special non-working day ang Disyembre 26 dahil papatak sa araw ng Martes o ipit sa working day.
Nais ni Pangulong Marcos na mabigyan ang mga Filipinong manggagawa ng sapat na panahon na makapagdiwang ng Pasko kasama ang kanilang pamilya.
“Whereas, the declaration of 26 December 2023, Tuesday, as an additional special (non-working) day will give the people the full opportunity to celebrate the holiday with their families and loved ones,” saad ng proklamasyon.
“Whereas, a longer weekend will encourage families to get together and strengthen their relationship leading to a better society,” saad ng proklamasyon.
Sabi ng Pangulo, ang mahabang weekend ay pagkakataon na rin na maitaguyod ang domestic tourism.
Inaatasan ang Department of Labor and Employment na maglabas ng direkiba na tiyakin na maayos na maipatupad ang proklamasyon sa pribadong sektor.
