MOA sa paggamit ng renewable energy sa irrigation facilities, naselyuhan na

Nilagdaan ng Department of Energy at National Irrigation Administration ang isang memorandum of agreement na magsusulong ng paggamit saa renewable energy at mas maging accessible sa publiko.

Nilagdaan ang naturang kasunduan nina DOE Undersecretary Sharon Garin at Director Marissa Cerezo at Engr. Eduardo Eddie Guillen ng NIA sa Malakanyang.

Ayon sa pahayag ng Presidential Communications Office, mahalaga ang kasunduan para maisulong ang water security and sustainable resource management na nakabatay sa Executive Order No. 22, series of 2023.

Layunin ng kasunduan na mapaganda at madevelop ang renewable energy resources sa bansa sa harap nang layunin ng gobyerno na makapag generate ng 35 percent power mula sa renewable energy sources pagsapit ng taong 2030 at 50 percent pagsapit ng 2040.

Nakapaloob rin sa kasunduan na gagamitin ng DOE ang lahat ng NIA irrigation facilities at ang mga patuloy na ginagawa kabilang ang mga lugar na natukoy at nasa listahan ng future irrigation development  facilities projects para sa magamit ng publiko na hindi maapektuhan ang operasyon ng NIA.

“Ito po ay very commendable achievement of both or the whole government kasi po sama-sama ‘yung gobyerno even not just the two agencies para lang po ma-attain ‘yung food security and also energy security ng bansa,” pahayag ni Garin.

“Itong partnership na ito ay ma-streamline at maayos ‘yung ating application sa renewable energy service contracts,” pahayag naman ni Guillen.
