P67 milyong halaga ng shabu nasabat ng BOC sa Pasay City
Nasabat ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs ang halos 10,000 gramo ng shabi na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit P67 milyon sa paircargo Warehouse sa Pasay City.
Ayon kay BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio idineklarang mga bearing ang shabu.
Galing ang kargamento ng Mozambique, Southeastern Africa at idinaan sa Hong Kong sakay ng Ethipian Airlines flight number ET6444.
Dumating sa bansa ang kargamento noong Disyembre 2, 2023.
Naaresto ng BOC ang consignee ng ilegal na droga na umanoý para sa kanyang partner na nakilala sa online.
“The public is warned to be more aware of the variations of the love scam, where smugglers of illegal drugs use their Filipino partners to serve as couriers. Our laws are very clear that whoever is identified as the owner of the shipment remains under the pain of imprisonment if found to be in violation of the rules,” pahayag ni Rubio.
Kakasuhan ang consignee ng paglabag sa Republic Act (RA) 9165 o Anti-Illegal Drugs Act at RA 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
“I commend the Port, under the leadership of District Collector Yasmin O. Mapa, and our partner agencies in their unwavering commitment to put an end to the proliferation of dangerous drugs in the country,” pahayag ni Rubio.
