Mataas na upa sa vote counting machines pinuna ni Sen. Koko Pimentel
Pinuna si Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III ang mataas na upa sa mga tinatawag na “modern automatic counting machines” (ACMs) na balak gamitin ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa eleksyon sa 2025.
“Under the proposed budget of the Comelec for the next fiscal year, a substantial portion amounting to P19.799 billion is allocated for the rental of these 127,740 ACMs, each costing P155,000 to lease, for the implementation of the 2025 midterm election,” banggit ni Pimentel.
Diin niya lubhang napakamahal ng P155,000 na upa sa bawat ACM kung ikukunsidera ang mga kinahaharap na hamon pa ng gobyerno.
“To spend nearly P20 billion on the rental of automatic counting machines, with each machine costing P155,000 just to lease, is simply not wise, given our current financial situation,” aniya.
Banggit pa ni Pimentel ang bagong halaga ay higit doble sa P70,000 na unang inanunsiyo ng komisyon.
Dagdag pa nito, sa mga naunang pahayag din ng Comelec nabanggit na ang kakailanganin lamang na ACMs sa 2025 elections ay 97,000.
Diin ni Pimentel kailangan na maipaliwanag at malinaw ng husto ng Comelec ang magkakaibang datos.
