Reclamation project sa Dumaguete, ipinatigil ng PRA
Pansamantalang ipinatigil ng Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) ang operasyon ng Dumaguete City Reclamation Project.
Ito ay matapos mabatid na walang Clearance at Environmental Clearance Certificate mula sa PRA ang 1.7 ektaryang “Seawall for Shoreline Protection” o “Pantawan II” sa kahabaan ng Rizal Boulevard sa Dumaguete City sa Negros Oriental.
Ayon kay PRA chairman Attorney Alexander Lopez, nakatanggap ng reklamo ang kanilang hanay mula sa mga residente kaugnay sa hindi awtorisadong reclamation project.
Dahil dito, agad na nagsagawa ng malalimang imbestigasyon ang PRA katuwang ang Department of Environment and Natural resources, local government units at iba pang stakeholder.
Ayon kay Lopez, kapag napatunayan na lumabag sa regulatory requirements ang reclamation project, babawiin ito ng gobyerno.
Pakiusap ni Lopez sa mga stakeholders, maging responsable sa pagsasagawa ng coastal development at environmental preservation projects.
