P1.9B alokasyon sa pagkuha ng non-teaching personnel hiniling ni Gatchalian
Isinusulong ni Senator Sherwin Gatchalian ang paglalaan ng P1.9 bilyong alokasyon para sa pagkuha ng non-teaching personnel.
Ito naman aniya ay upang mabawasan ang gabundok na trabaho ng mga guro at mapataas pa ang kalidad ng edukasyon.
“We recommended an allocation of P1.9 billion, I know it’s a substantial amount to hire 5,000 administrative officers and 3,000 project development officers to help our teachers unload their administrative responsibilities. This is one of the low-hanging fruits in terms of improving efficiency in our classrooms,” ayon sa namumuno sa Senate Committee on Basic Education.
Tinumbok ni Gatchalian ang pagdaragdag sa ilalim ng Personnel Services ng Department of Education (DepEd) para sa 5,000 posisyon ng Administrative Officer II at 3,000 para naman sa Project Development Officer I.
Aniya base sa Legislative Budget Research and Monitoring Office (LBRMO), walang inilaan na pondo para sa pagkuha ng mga karagdagang non-teaching personnel.
Nabanggit din niya ang kanyang plano na maghain ng pag-amyenda sa Magna Carta for Public School Teachers upang makatugon sa mga kinahaharap na hamon at pangangailangan ng mga guro.
