Nasa 41 na motorsiklo ang na-impound ng Land Transportation Office sa Metro Manila.
Ayon kay LTO chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, bunga ito ng pinaigting na implementasyon ng “No Registration, No Travel” policy.
“Napakaraming motorsiklo ang hindi rehistrado at batay sa ating record, marami sa mga ito ay hindi nakarehistro ng isa hanggang limang taon. Hindi natin papayagan ito at makakaasa ang ating mga kababayan na gagawa tayo ng mga aksyon upang mapilitan ang mga may-ari nito na magparehistro,” pahayag ni Mendoza.
Utos ni Mendoza sa LTO Regional Directors, makipag-ugnayan sa Philippine National Police at traffic enforcement units ng local government units (LGUs) para hulihin ang mga hindi rehistradong asakyan.
Base sa talaan ng LTO, nasa 24.7 milyon ang delinquent vehicles o hindi nakarehistrong sasakyan sa bansa.
Karamihan sa mga hindi naka-rehistro ang mga motorsiklo.
“All the apprehended drivers were issued with citation tickets and all the motorcycles with no registration were impounded,” pahayag ni Mendoza.
“The operation we conducted in Metro Manila should serve as a warning to all delinquent motor vehicle owners to register them in the soonest possible time. Huwag na ninyong hintayin pa na mahuli kayo dahil mas malalang problema ang kakaharapin ninyo,” dagdag ni Mendoza.
