Sen. Bong Revilla kinilalang ambassador for Motorcycle Road Safety
Kinilala si Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., bilang ambassador for Motorcycle Road Safety at Road Safety warrior.
Ang pagkilala kay Revilla ay ibinigay ng Motorcycle Philippines Federation kasabay nang paggunita sa World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
Dumalo ang libo-libong motorcycle riders sa pagtitipon na ginanap sa Strike Gymnasium sa Bacoor Business Center.
Sa kanyang talumpati, ipinaaalala ni Revilla ang kahalagahan ng road safety promotion and education para lubos na maalala ang mga biktima ng mga aksidente sa lansangan.
“Magka-akibat po ito sapagkat sa pamamagitan lamang ng road safety promotion and education natin tunay na madadakila ang mga binawian ng buhay dahil sa aksidente sa lansangan,” aniya.
Binanggit din niya ang isinulong at naging batas na RA 10054 o ang Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
“Dahil sa batas na ‘yan ay nakita natin ang pagbaba ng insidente ng pagkamatay ng mga rider na nai-involve sa mga vehicular crashes. While there is no exact figure on how much the severity and mortality rate has dropped in the past 14 years, it is estimated to be 37% and 41% effective in preventing fatal injuries to the operators and passengers,” sambit pa ni Revilla.
