Ugnayan ng Pilipinas at Amerika, kritikal dahil sa tensyon sa West Philippine Sea
Kritikal ang papel na ginagampanan ng Amerika sa usapin sa West Philippine Sea.
Sa pahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa Daniel Inouye Asia Pacific for Security Studies sa Honolulu, Hawaii sa Amerika, sinabi nito na kaya mahalaga ang relasyon at alyansa ng Pilipinas at Amerika.
Pangako ni Pangulong Marcos, walang isusuko na teritoryo ang Pilipinas kahit na isang pulgada sa alin mang bansa na nagtatangkang mang-agaw.
“The heightening tension in the West Philippine Sea, as we have named it, is generally known as the South China Sea, the increasing tensions in the South China Sea require that we partner with our allies and our friends around the world, so for us to come to some kind of resolution and to maintain the peace,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Malinaw aniya ang nakasaad sa United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea na sakop ng Pilipinas ang ilang lugar sa West Philippine Sea.
Sabi ni Pangulong Marcos, final at binding at desisyon ng UNCLOS.
