Marcos kay Xi: Huwag guluhin ang mga Pinoy na mangingisda sa West Philippine Sea
Muling iginiit ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. kay Chinese President Xi jinping na huwag guluhin at hayaang mangisda ang mga Filipinong mangingisda sa West Philippine Sea.
Nagkausap sina Pangulong Marcos at Xi sa sidelines ng Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit sa San Francisco, California sa Amerika.
Ayon sa Pangulo, pinag-usapan nila ni Xi ang pagpapababa sa tensyon sa West Philippine Sea.
“I simply once again voiced to him my concern on some of the incidents that were happening between Chinese vessels and Philippine vessels, culminating in an actual collision, as we have seen before,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Sabi ni Pangulong Marcos, nagkaroon na sila ni Xi ng mekanismo para maayos ang gulo sa West Philippine Sea.
Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, hindi dapat na saktan ang mga Filipinong mangingisda at hindi dapat na idaan sa dahas.
“I always bring up the plight of our fishermen. And I asked that we go back to the situation where both Chinese and Filipino fishermen were fishing together in these waters and so, I think the point was well taken by President Xi,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“But nonetheless, the problems remain and it is something that we will need to continue to communicate to find ways to avoid such incidents,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
