Pilipinas suportado ng Timor-Leste sa pagpapatupad sa UNCLOS
Suportado ng Timor-Leste ang hangad ng Pilipinas na ipatupad ang 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Sa joint press statement nina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta, sinabi ng mga ito na marapat lamang na pairalin ang international law.
“It is with gratitude that we also have received the expressions of support from the President for the Philippines in terms of the rules– our adherence to a rules-based international law, to UNCLOS,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Pinag-usapan din ng dalawang lider ang pagtatatag ng social security agreement para maging safety net ng dalawang bansa.
Pagkatapos ng joint press statement, nagkaroon ng bilateral meeting ang dalawa kung saan ipinaabot ni Pangulong Marcos kay Ramos-Horta na suportado ng Pilipinas ang Timor-Leste para maging ganap na miyembro ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Tinalakay din ng dalawang lider ang education cooperation at pagdadagdag ng student exchanges pati na ang pagkakaroon ng direct flights sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa.
Pinaunlakan din ni Pangulong Marcos ang imbitasyon ni Ramos-Horta na bumisita sa Timor-Leste.
